"YOU'RE NEVER TOO LATER TO CREATE THE ART YOU DESIRE!"

Meet Your Award-Winning Tutor

Hi, I’m Sam — a landscape artist lucky enough to call the rolling hills of South West England my home.

Like so many artists, I struggled with perfectionism. I thought I had to get it “right” — until I learned that the real magic happens when you let go. When you make space for mistakes, loosen your grip, and trust your instincts. That’s when my work began to change… and so did I.

  • Winner of the Ronald Searle Award for Creativity
  • Long-listed for the Kate Greenaway Award
  • Winner of the 2020 Brownston Gallery Award

What matters most to me is this: helping you experience the same creative freedom I fought so hard to find. I made this course to share everything that transformed my art — from the techniques to the mindset shifts — so you can stop holding back and start creating with joy, energy, and confidence.

Can’t wait to see what you create!

Love Sam x

Frequently Asked Questions

Final Note...

Just like you, I had a dream.

I imagined creating dramatic abstract landscapes full of spontaneity and energy. The calling was so deep and instinctive that I knew there was no other true path. But my vision far exceeded my ability!

Even though I had worked in illustration I needed to become

a student again. I had to go back to the beginning…

My first real breakthrough happened by accident. Each morning I’d pack a sketchbook and pencil for my daily dog walk but ‘Monty’ my Hungarian Visla wouldn’t let me sit. So I began to draw as I was walked!

I instantly saw a shift in my sketches. They were loose and fast.

Expressive and wild. I loved them.

This simple change opened the door to a whole new approach.

I began to use movement and action in my art. I realised that by working WITH my environment and embracing its changing qualities, I created marks that captured a more dynamic sense of place.

From sketches to ink studies, and then to larger-scale paintings, I applied the same approach. Keeping things simple, responding not replicating and maintaining a playful mindset. One that embraces the wilder side of art making.
